No major characters here, but I’ve been texturing creatures that are found in the sloping countryside of King Shugert’s kingdom.
Yes, birds, bats, and goats.
On his quest, Roland makes a journey through the bottom of Lake Dread. This sequence involves a number of fish and jellyfish.
Again, using the puppetry motif in these designs. That jellyfish is essentially a light bulb with a painted brass ring and several dangling Xmas light strands.
While at the bottom of the lake, Roland will have a nasty encounter with the TeethFish, seen below.

When the lights go out, those green stripes on TeethFish glow neon green-white. The teeth as well. All of the fish at the bottom of Lake Dread will have this glow-effect. I”m not entirely sure how to pull it off yet, but I’m running tests.

I can’t wait to see lighting tests for the water scenes. It feels like it might be similar to Limbo. It had such a heavy atmosphere that half the time it felt like I was in a lake bed. Also the lightbulb jelly fish are genius.
Thanks. Tina has offered to rig that one for me. I think I’m going to have to take her up on that. At some point I’m going to have to prostrate myself in front of Troy and see if he’ll help me with sound.
Good god that would be amazing. Theres no way he wouldn’t do it.
